After lamenting over the past couple of weeks about the state of the environment, I was pleasantly surprised of the actions of the average person. It seems that a group of villagers in China turned on a factory that is suspected of polluting the water and the surrounding area. It looks like they had just had enough and took the protests that happened recently to a whole different level.

Speaking of pollution and health, I have been reading a book recently entitled Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You to Know About, by Kevin Trudeau. Lots of people think he is some sort of charlatan and it could be true but what he says about food, health and lifestyle only make sense. I don't think him a guru and for the most part this is a very US-centred book but it only makes sense that if you live healthy, you can be healthy.

So, why am I mentioning this?

Well, it's because of something said in the book about a study that found that women in the US had high levels of jet fuel in their breast milk. Something about jet trails, I believe but I found an article in the Environmental Technology and Science online page entitled "High levels of perchlorate found in U.S. mothers’ milk".

I am not trying to be alarmist or anything but this surprised me. So, I thought that I would share it with you out there.

I know that we would all go very crazy if we were to think of all of these things all of the time, but I think that it won't really hurt if we can expand our knowledge base. It's a good thing to know these things and make our own decisions about the issues that affect each and every one of us on this planet.

Any ideas, comments or thoughts?
